The Job: Head of Operations
A well-known and successful technology business, with an easily accessible Cambridge head quarters is looking to hire a Head of Operations. A key role, designed to strengthen the link between strategic intent and global operational delivery.
As the Head of Operations, you will work closely with the Senior Management Team to shape and deliver the operational strategy that underpins the company’s next stage of growth. You will lead a large and talented team spanning supply chain, logistics, customer service, quality assurance, repairs and compliance - ensuring each function works seamlessly to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and commercial performance. Having a strong understanding/ background within Supply Chain combined with a Continuous Improvement mindset will be essential here!
This is a role for a collaborative, commercially minded leader who thrives on driving improvement, empowering teams and creating clarity from complexity.
What you’ll be doing:
* Set the operational direction and drive performance against key business goals
* Lead and develop a team of 50+ across supply chain, order fulfilment, service and repairs
* Manage contract manufacturers and global suppliers to ensure quality, cost and delivery targets are met
* Oversee demand planning, logistics and stock management to support revenue growth
* Ensure service operations meet SLAs and continue to evolve into profitable offerings
* Maintain compliance with ISO and regulatory standards, embedding a culture of continuous improvement
* Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to align operations with strategic priorities
About you:
You are an experienced operations leader with a background in high-tech product manufacturing environments, known for delivering results through people, process and partnership.
You will bring:
* Proven experience leading end-to-end operations, ideally across supply chain
* Strong commercial acumen and confidence managing budgets, costs and profitability
* Experience managing contract manufacturers and global suppliers
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with credibility at executive level
* A leadership style that balances accountability with empowerment
* Eligibility for, or existing, SC Security Clearance
* Willing to travel within the UK & internationally a few times a year
