Company Description
Comprehensive Future is a campaign group striving to end the 11-plus and establish fair school admissions in England. We lobby decision-makers, gather evidence, and share academic research along with local stories from supporters, parents, governors, heads, and teachers. We provide information to the public and media through our website, reports, and public meetings. Additionally, we support local campaigns and connect campaigners with each other.
Role Description
We are looking for a volunteer Treasurer to handle our day-to-day finances and play an active part in guiding our work. The role mainly involves managing online banking, keeping simple records of income and expenditure, and preparing annual accounts.
As Treasurer you will also join our Steering Group, which meets every 6–8 weeks (usually online) to set the direction of Comprehensive Future's campaigning. You'll be part of the small strategy team leading the organisation and helping shape our priorities.
You'll need to keep our finances accurate and transparent so that our campaigning for fair school admissions can run smoothly. This role is light-touch and flexible, usually just a couple of hours a month. We're also happy to adapt how we work to fit the volunteer's preferences.
Qualifications
* Experience managing simple finances (through work, volunteering, or personal responsibilities)
* Confident with online banking and basic spreadsheets
* Organised and reliable, with attention to detail
* An interest in equitable education and supporting fair school admissions
* No formal finance qualification required — enthusiasm and commitment are more important
