In this role, you will act as an internal Health & Safety Advisor, reporting to the Head of Health and Safety. Your technical knowledge and experience in Health and Safety will assist with the development and maintenance of the organisation's Safety Management System. You will ensure that any changes to statutory obligations are reflected in Policy and Procedure and that compliance with UK legislation is achieved.
You will be responsible for maintaining the safety management system, database, and analyzing statistical information. Additionally, you will assist with developing and delivering corporate campaigns that engage the organisation's workforce, promoting a positive health and safety culture.
This role requires regular health and safety audits across the organisation. Therefore, regular travel and occasional overnight stays are expected — a full UK driving license is essential.
Essential qualifications include the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, the NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate, and full membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH or CIEH).
Applicants should have at least one year of post-qualification experience in a Health and Safety practitioner role, with in-depth knowledge of Health & Safety law and practice. Experience working within a multi-site/multi-disciplinary organisation and solving complex or contentious problems with creative solutions is also required.
