About The Role
Forest of Dean District Council seeks a forward-thinking and collaborative Waste and Environmental Partnerships Manager to lead our strategic relationship with Ubico Ltd., our waste and recycling service provider. This role oversees waste collection, recycling, street cleansing, grounds maintenance, and related environmental services. You will advise on waste hierarchy, policy, innovation, and best practices to reduce environmental impact and improve efficiency.
You will build partnerships with Ubico, other local authorities, and stakeholders to drive innovation and service quality. Representing the council regionally, you'll identify collaboration opportunities and contribute to service strategy and policy. Working with elected members and senior leaders, you'll ensure alignment with the council's vision and financial goals, supporting projects like depot reviews and savings initiatives.
You will need
* Degree level education or equivalent in a relevant field
* At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant area
* Strong strategic relationship management and service delivery experience
* Excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills
* In-depth understanding of the waste hierarchy and environmental principles
* Resource management skills, financial awareness, and project leadership abilities
