Specification Technologist
Contract: 12‑Month Fixed-Term Contract
Salary: £32,000-£35,000
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
Reports to: Technical Manager
Role Purpose & Context
This role is responsible for ensuring all customer product specifications are completed accurately, on time, and in line with individual customer requirements. Working closely with the Technical Manager, NPD, and Production teams, you will play a key part in maintaining high technical standards, supporting audit readiness, and ensuring product compliance throughout the specification and artwork process.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Technical Manager in day‑to‑day technical activities.
Complete finished product specifications to meet customer requirements and critical path deadlines, ensuring "right first time" delivery.
Review and check finished product artwork to ensure alignment with customer specifications and critical path timelines.
Maintain and update retailer online systems, ensuring all finished product specifications and site information are accurate and up to date.
Manage internal and external customer interactions professionally, contributing to audits and customer visits and leading discussions in areas of expertise.
Conduct internal audits as part of the site audit team.
Provide administrative support including data input for customer complaints, KPI reporting, and technical analysis.
Support technical projects and documentation to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System.
Manage product recipes within the internal process control systems.
Generate and manage in‑house label printing for WIP, best‑before, outer case, and ingredient labels.
Complete gap analyses against customer Codes of Practice.
