B1.2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer – General Aviation Location: West Sussex Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (37.5 hours per week) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent The Role We are seeking an experienced and motivated B1.2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a busy team maintaining a fleet of single and twin piston General Aviation aircraft, as well as supporting third-party aircraft when required. Reporting to the Chief Engineer, you will play a key hands-on role in ensuring aircraft are maintained to the highest standards, ready to support both UK and international operations. This is a varied position involving both scheduled maintenance and defect rectification. Key Responsibilities Perform scheduled maintenance and defect rectification on General Aviation piston aircraft Support aircraft availability for both internal fleet and third-party clients Ensure all work complies with regulatory standards and safety procedures Work closely with operations teams to support day-to-day mission readiness Travel at short notice when required to support maintenance at international locations Maintain accurate records and documentation to CAA and company standards Work effectively both independently and as part of a small, dynamic team Requirements Essential: Current B1.2 Aircraft Maintenance Licence, or be working towards it Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in GA aircraft maintenance Strong practical hand skills and own personal hand tools Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to manage changing priorities Excellent attention to detail, with a methodical and organised approach Full UK driving licence and valid passport for occasional international travel Good communication skills (written and verbal) Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Desirable: Experience supporting aircraft on international deployment Previous experience with multi-engine piston aircraft Knowledge of modern maintenance systems and processesWorking Hours & Travel Standard hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 16:00 (37.5 hours per week) Occasional weekend work may be required, with Time Off In Lieu (TOIL) provided Some international travel at short notice to support overseas operationsSalary & Benefits Competitive salary of £35,000-£55,000 DOE TOIL for additional hours worked Opportunity to work on unique international aviation projects Be part of a small, supportive and highly skilled team Scenic West Sussex coastal location
