Health & Safety Officer Location: Warrenpoint, County Down Salary: £30,000 per annum Job Type: Permanent Ashton Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer on behalf of our client, an award-winning facilities management and building services contractor operating across the UK and Ireland. The Role Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager, you will play a key role in supporting and enhancing HSEQ systems across the organisation. This is a varied, hands-on position involving both site-based and office-based responsibilities. Key Responsibilities (but not limited to) Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSEQ systems Assist in the creation and maintenance of health and safety documentation Support the reporting, investigation and follow-up of incidents, near misses and non-conformances Carry out site inspections, audits, and assist with RAMS preparation and review Monitor compliance with health and safety standards across projects Support internal audits and ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) Coordinate and track health and safety training and competency requirements Work closely with operational teams to promote safe systems of work Contribute to health and safety initiatives and campaigns across the business Provide general support to ensure the effective running of the HSEQ function Essential Criteria NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) Minimum 2 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within construction, engineering or similar Strong understanding of safe systems of work in construction environments Working knowledge of quality assurance processes Experience supporting or working with ISO systems (9001, 14001, 45001) Good knowledge of current health and safety legislation Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Full UK driving licence Personal Attributes Proactive with a willingness to learn and develop Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Practical, solutions-focused approach Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced environment Due to the nature of the role, successful candidates will be required to complete an AccessNI check as part of the onboarding process.
