Trust Registrar in Rheumatology/GIM

The Trust is recruiting a Trust Specialist Registrar (TRS) in Rheumatology for a fixed term of 12 months. The position will be based at Northwick Park Hospital and will provide an ideal starting point for aspiring SpR training in Rheumatology.
About the Role
The postholder will work as a member of the Rheumatology team alongside F1, SHO, ST registrars and consultant staff to deliver high‑quality care for rheumatology and medical patients. Responsibilities include ward duties on Jonson Ward, DRU ward and out‑lying patients on Gray Ward, as well as providing rheumatology opinions and urgent care to the Ambulatory Emergency Care Unit.
* Work within the Rheumatology team consisting of 7 consultants (expanding to 8) with a focus on the interface of general medicine and rheumatology.
* Contribute to rheumatology clinics in a predominantly supernumerary capacity. Clinical areas include early arthritis, connective tissue disease, metabolic bone disease, injection clinics and ankylosing spondylitis.
* Provide ward care Monday to Friday, 0900‑1700, with the expectation that duties may evolve with service development.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Experience
* Successful completion of Core Medical Training (or equivalent).
* Evidence of involvement in audit and/or presentations.
* Clinical experience in Rheumatology.
Education Qualifications
* MBBS (or equivalent).
* Full GMC registration.
* Part 2 MRCP UK (or equivalent) at expected start date of post.
* MRCP (PACES).
* MD, PhD or equivalent.
Teaching
* Experience of teaching and training undergraduates, postgraduates and junior medical staff.
* Evidence of ongoing interest and achievement in research.
