Job Description:
Our client is seeking a dedicated and skilled Machine Tool Fitter to join their growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the build, assembly and installation of special purpose machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Precision machine fitting
* Fitting and assembling various machine sub-assemblies (e.g., Spindles, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Lubrication systems)
* Working to very tight tolerances
* Pipe bending & swaging
* Good knowledge of hydraulics & pneumatics
* Operating machine shop equipment such as millers, lathes, and grinders
* Ability to use measuring & inspection tools such as Verniers, Micrometers & gauges
* Must be able to read & understand engineering drawings and schematics
Role Requirements:
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
* Proficiency in reading drawings and fluid schematics
* Precision fitting, working to very tight tolerances.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
* Flexibility to work overtime when required
* Must hold a valid UK driving license and passport for international travel
Experience Needed:
* Mechanical Engineering qualifications (City & Guilds or BTEC)
* Previous experience as a Machine Tool Fitter or working in bespoke machine building
* Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems
* Experience using machine shop equipment
* Problem-solving skills and a passion for continuous improvement are highly desirable
