Salary: Base salary: £44,380pa to c£52,212pa depending on skills and experience. In addition, there is a flexible benefits fund of 15% paid on top of base salary and fully pensionable, plus a range of competitive benefits. Details are in the Benefits section on our website.

As a Health Safety and Security Manager at HS2 you will assist the Senior Health, Safety and Security Manager and Head of HSE in ensuring HS2’s health, safety, security and management standards are met within development and delivery areas, by both HS2 and the Supply Chain. The role also involves role modelling and embedding the ‘Safe at heart’ culture across development and delivery.
About The Role
* Be accountable for role modelling and embedding ‘Safe at Heart’ culture and ways of working throughout delivery.
* Support risk-based Health, Safety and Security operational assurance within the development and delivery areas.
* Help oversee and ensure compliance to centrally defined processes and policies across Occupational Health, Safety, and Security.
* Support the investigation of Health, Safety and Security incidents within delivery areas.
* Assist in providing Health, Safety and Security services to support development & delivery teams.
* Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all work and comply with organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Skills
About You
* Ability to work as part of a team.
* Analysis skills to identify hidden problems using honest analysis and probing techniques.
* Problem solving using rigorous logic and methods; probes all relevant sources for answers.
* Planning and organising – ability to prioritise and manage own workload.
* IT proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Office).
* Ability to assist with production and review of technical reports including assurance and investigation reports; interface with staff across all levels of the project.
Knowledge
* All aspects of health and safety, including occupational health elements of the Works Information, security policies/procedures/processes.
* Knowledge of assurance activities, tools, techniques and their application.
Experience
* Experience of assisting with the delivery of assurance across a major programme or a complex organisation with multiple stakeholders.
* Experience in being part of a multi-disciplinary Quality or Health & Safety team.
* Experience of contributing to and reviewing investigations.
* A professional qualification in Health and Safety or equivalent experience.
