As a Business Development Manager at Smurfit Westrock, your primary purpose is to drive the growth of the company by building and nurturing client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and developing strategies to expand our market presence. Your role is essential in driving revenue, profitability, and the long-term success of Smurfit Westrock. With your strategic thinking and business acumen, you will be instrumental in shaping the company's future.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding their needs and aligning solutions with their objectives.
2. Improve margin and organic growth with existing business customers through a proactive sales/service relationship and a developed awareness of the customer’s needs
3. Ensure that clients receive the highest level of service, adhering to agreed-upon service standards.
4. Identify and pursue new business opportunities, markets, and potential clients.
5. Conduct market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes.
6. Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate the delivery of products and services that align with client objective.
8. Stay informed about industry trends, market dynamics, and competitors, providing insights to improve WestRock's positioning.
9. Identify potential areas for growth, diversification, and innovation within the market.
10. Monitor sales performance and proactively address any challenges or opportunities for growth.
11. Provide accurate short, medium and long-term forecasts as necessary, working with the business to develop accurate budget volumes and phasing & produce and analyse Strategic account KPI’s
12. Implement sales strategies and initiatives to drive revenue and market expansion.
13. Identify areas for improvement in business development processes and contribute to their enhancement.
Qualifications:
14. Degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
15. Proven experience in business development or related sales roles.
16. Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
17. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities.
