About the Role
Sizewell C's Site Delivery Programme is seeking experienced Pre Construction Planning Managers to help shape the policies, processes, and methodologies that will enable the end to end delivery of Systems, Structures and Components (SSCs) across Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC).
You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that delivery is planned safely, efficiently, and in line with quality, schedule, and cost expectations. Working within the Site Delivery Directorate, you will collaborate closely with Pre Construction colleagues, wider Site Delivery teams, and Programme partners to ensure construction design and delivery are coordinated, structured, and consistent.
This role also carries Principal Contractor responsibilities, ensuring that planning and delivery activities meet CDM Regulations (2015), ONR requirements, and Sizewell C's Site Delivery policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
Main Delivery Site (MDS) Planning
* Develop and maintain processes and methodologies to enable safe and efficient access/egress to buildings while surrounding infrastructure, roads, and networks are constructed.
* Work collaboratively with Pre Construction, Programme teams, and suppliers to ensure seamless integration across the site.
CDM & HSEQ Delivery
* Ensure CDM Regulations are effectively deployed throughout Pre Construction Planning.
* Provide subject matter expertise and governance to Delivery and Programme teams in implementing Pre Construction Plans.
Sprint Leadership
* Facilitate resolution of design, schedule, and physical clashes through structured sprint workshops.
* Support adherence to safety, quality, and schedule targets.
Principal Accountabilities
* Prepare and maintain documents, templates, and processes relevant to Pre Construction Planning.
* Support the development of scope documents for Temporary Utilities and Infrastructure and assist with procurement activities.
* Work with Programme Teams and Planners to align contractor scope for safe, efficient delivery following a Best for Project approach.
* Support the implementation of Pre Construction Plans, methodologies, and processes across the Site Delivery Team.
* Ensure all planning activities comply with SZC Site Delivery policies and procedures.
* Chair or facilitate sprint workshops with Programme and Delivery Teams.
* Identify risks, resolve issues, and propose updates to programme and budget.
* Apply continuous improvement principles and embed lessons learned.
* Maintain strong interfaces with other programmes to ensure alignment and adoption of best practice.
* Build and sustain effective working relationships across project teams.
Nuclear Safety Accountabilities
This role will, in time, hold nuclear safety responsibilities as defined in the Nuclear Baseline.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Proven track record in Pre Construction Planning within a technically complex, dynamic, and regulated environment—ideally nuclear or similar.
* Experience in complex road and networks construction projects.
* Strong understanding of construction logistics.
* Demonstrated success in managing or developing Engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies; Multi-discipline EPCM projects; Procurement and management of complex contracts; Cost, risk, schedule, and change control, including use of Earned Value tools.
* Experience engaging and influencing diverse stakeholder groups.
* Strong management skills, including construction management, change management, and facilitation.
* Proficiency with scheduling and risk management tools.
* Experience managing contractors, consultants, and advisors on large, complex construction projects, including NEC contracts.
* Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations.
* Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build strong networks.
* Strong numerical and analytical capability.
* Understanding of nuclear quality requirements and graded approaches to quality.
Desirable
* Degree and chartered status in engineering, construction, or a related discipline.
