About The Role
Permanent, Part Time
£37,185 to £50,081 per annum (FTE).
We’re an adult social care service that aims to give citizens of Essex as much choice and control as possible, helping them live a full and fulfilling life with independence where possible. Our Social Workers work with people, families and carers to think through what might help them move forward, within the framework of statutory Care Act requirements. Conversations typically involve assessments, reviews, support planning and safeguarding, with a person-centred approach to understanding what matters to the individual and how to achieve it.
North Essex covers Colchester and Clacton, a diverse area with rural, coastal and urban communities. Essex County Council works closely with partners in North Essex; joining teams in this area offers opportunities for partnership work across local authorities and the NHS. Take a look at our short video to get a glimpse into the role and what it’s like to be a Social Worker at Essex County Council.
About The Team
We are looking for a passionate and experienced Social Worker to join the Tendring Neighbourhood team. The team operates across Tendring, linking with partners in health, housing and the voluntary sector. The team works with Adults aged 18 and above across all specialisms, undertaking duties under the Care Act 2014 including assessment, reviews, mental capacity assessments and adult safeguarding. The team’s makeup includes Social Workers, Occupational Social Workers and Community support workers, enabling a diverse range of support for local residents. We offer opportunities to explore Assistive Technology and equipment as part of sustainable solutions to empower better outcomes.
About You
If you share our vision and enjoy meeting people, you might be interested. If you’re a Social Worker registered with Social Work England who has completed ASYE, with creative thought, reliability and practical ability, we’d love to hear from you. You’ll have a broad understanding of statutory responsibilities and a commitment to meeting them in a person-centred way. You may have experience chairing meetings and building strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework. Our Social Worker roles involve travelling around Essex; a driving licence and car – or the ability to meet mobility requirements by other means – is essential.
