Heathfield House is a male mental health rehabilitation unit based in Stockport. We are currently seeking to recruit a band 5 staff nurse on a fixed term contract to complement the experienced staffing team that is already in place. You will be part of a thriving ward which is committed to providing a high level of quality care to the patients we work with. The successful applicant will be expected to work day and night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
Main duties of the job
* You will be an integral part of the team providing direct care to patients with a variety of mental health problems
* To act as the named nurse with responsibility for the overall care of an identified group of clients
* To regularly act as shift co-ordinator ensuring the smooth running of the clinical area and best utilisation of resources available, with support from senior staff
* You will be involved in providing a high level of safe and effective care
* Be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care
* Adhere to all Trust policies, procedures and guidelines
* Liaise with the multidisciplinary team
* Provide mentorship to others

Education / Qualifications
* First level registered nurse, RMN or RN in Mental Health.
* Must have a good understanding of both numeracy and language skills.
* Experience of working with people experiencing a range of difficulties, emotional distress and/or mental illness
* Training in psychosocial interventions
Knowledge
* The Mental Health Act 1983 and Code of Practice.
* Understanding of equality and diversity
* Understanding of clinical audit
* PMVA
Experience
* Experience of working within mental health setting
* Experience of working within Multi-Disciplinary Team
* Experience of care planning and risk assessment.
* Experience of working with clients with severe and enduring mental illness
* At least 12 months in a supervisory role.
