Mission
As Visual Merchandising Trade Activations Manager, your primary focus will be to lead and manage end-to-end visual merchandising for the brand, from the initial design and concept development through to final execution, adhering to timeline and budget constraints. Collaborating with the Senior VM Manager, you will maximize the visual impact of the brand and implement local trade calendar and launch strategies. You will apply expertise in visual merchandising project management and POS design to drive successful outcomes. The role requires attention to detail, collaboration with cross-departmental teams, effective stakeholder management, and strong time and budget management. You should be able to handle multiple demands and priorities, be self-managing, proactive in problem-solving, and adaptable to new challenges.
Job Responsibilities
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
360 VM Strategy
* Work with the Senior VM Manager to develop creative and comprehensive Visual Merchandising strategies that align with brand standards, trade plan objectives, and budgets.
* Collaborate with various departments to define launch/trade plan activity requirements, timelines, and deliverables; regularly communicate project progress and manage expectations of internal teams and retail partners.
Management of Full VM Process
* Oversee the design and implementation of in-store displays for launches/trade plans in line with the UK marketing calendar and trade plan, including counter updates, bespoke POSM, and sites and windows.
* Create visual mock-ups and presentations to ensure designs adhere to brand guidelines and are validated by UK and HQ teams.
* Self-manage to ensure launch/trade activations are delivered on time, report progress, and mitigate risks to meet schedules.
* Provide comprehensive launch and trade activity guidelines and planograms, ensuring adherence to brand standards across all touchpoints.
* Forecast and allocate international POSM across product categories.
* Provide in-store support during launches and store refits across the UK, ensuring guidelines are followed, and oversee ordering of central POSM and testers, production of visuals, bespoke POSM, and planograms.
* Conduct regular reviews of VM activity, gather quantitative and qualitative feedback, and recommend improvements.
* Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in visual merchandising.
Budget Management
* Fully manage the yearly VM budget, aligning with marketing and trade plans and broader brand strategy.
* Track and analyze VM spend per door and report cost distribution trends by retailer/location.
* Update budget trackers monthly and at regular review periods.
* Manage PO process for all projects with assistance from VM intern.
Supplier Management
* Effectively manage and evaluate external suppliers, building strong relationships to ensure quality, timely delivery, and high-quality execution of VM activities.
Coaching and Development
* Manage VM intern; supervise day-to-day launch/trade plan tasks and provide guidance and support as needed.
Profile / Qualifications
5+ years of relevant Visual Merchandising experience, preferably in beauty or luxury retail. Strong understanding of launch and permanent VM, POS design, and retail standards. Proven VM/project management skills with excellent attention to detail. Budget and cost management proficiency. Strong sourcing, procurement, and supplier management abilities. Ability to collaborate cross-departmentally and manage stakeholders effectively. Self-managing, proactive, with strong time and priority management. Strong commercial acumen with ROI focus. Excellent written and verbal communication. Experience with SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, or IWD is advantageous.
