Role: Gatehouse Security Officer
Location: Thatcham, RG19.
Rate of Pay £12.92/hour
Part and Full time.
This is a gatehouse based security role in a busy distribution site, Daily duties include:
1. To manage the movements of vehicles and personnel on/off site
2. To meet and greet visitors in a professional manner
3. Perform personal searches on exit (as selected by RSI)
4. Undertake random site patrols
5. To provide a good level of customer service to all that pass through the gatehouse
Main Duties
6. Fully and satisfactorily complete all tasks and duties on site as defined within the published Assignment Instructions (AI's).
7. To work in a systematic, methodology and orderly way.
8. To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development.
9. Delivering results that meet and / or exceed the Key performance indicators / Service Level Agreement for the customer.
10. Comply with all legal obligations and safety requirements of the role.
Shift Details and Timings
11. This site operates 24/7 security cover
12. The role includes day and night shifts, and weekend working
13. Day shifts are hrs to hrs, Night shift hrs to hrs
14. A basic rota working six out of nine days is in place (three days, three nights, three rest)
15. Flexibility is essential - This is a self cover site,where possible holidays and sickness are covered from within the team

16. Thatcham train station is a 20 minute walk from site
17. The closest bus stop is a 15 minute walk
18. Please note - This site cannot be reached by public transport on Sundays and Bank holidays

19. Previous gatehouse or distribution depot experience preferred
20. SIA licence

Health & Safety
21. To protect our customer's property, people and/or assets by providing security services in direct accordance with the Assignment Instructions (AI's)
22. Look out for, and to immediately report, any Health & Safety hazards, or potential hazards, on site.
23. Stay alert to any threats or changes within the work environment.
24. To be aware of all legal and regulatory requirements as directed by Mitie and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.
25. To maintain professional conduct in the face of difficult situations and challenging customers.
26. Complete an accurate, detailed notebook entry as soon as possible after any incident.
Training
27. Fully and satisfactorily complete all required competency training.
28. To undertake additional training to ensure continuous self-development as directed by the Security Account Manager.
29. Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge and expertise through continual professional development.
30. You are required to ensure you renew your licence 16 weeks before expiry.
