About Crystal Pathways

Crystal Pathways is a values-driven organisation delivering holistic wellbeing, mental health, and employability support across the UK. We work with adults whose lives have often been shaped by multiple, interconnected challenges, including mental ill health, trauma, substance misuse, homelessness, long-term unemployment, social exclusion, and contact with the criminal justice system.

We recognise that wellbeing is influenced by many aspects of life, not a single difficulty. Our approach focuses on understanding and supporting the whole person — their experiences, strengths, aspirations, and circumstances — rather than defining individuals by labels or past experiences. Our services are trauma-informed, person-centred, and grounded in respect, dignity, and compassion.

Working at Crystal Pathways means being part of an organisation that believes in meaningful relationships, thoughtful practice, and creating genuine opportunities for positive change.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and resilient Wellbeing Advisor to join our team in Ormskirk, supporting vulnerable adults with complex needs.

This is a frontline, experience-led role. Proven experience working directly with vulnerable individuals is essential, including experience supporting people with lived experience of offending. Formal qualifications are welcomed but are not essential; the ability to engage, build trust, and provide effective, person-centred support is paramount.

You will work holistically with individuals, offering practical, emotional, and motivational support, and coordinating care through internal services and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide one-to-one wellbeing support to vulnerable adults with a range of complex needs
* Work with individuals with lived experience of offending, trauma, mental ill health, substance misuse, homelessness, and social exclusion
* Build consistent, respectful, and non-judgemental relationships with service users
* Take a holistic approach, considering mental health, physical health, housing, finances, relationships, employment, and social inclusion
* Support individuals to identify goals, build confidence, and progress towards sustainable positive outcomes
* Provide practical support, advocacy, and guidance to help individuals navigate services
* Make and coordinate internal referrals within Crystal Pathways and external referrals to partner agencies (e.g. probation, housing, mental health services, substance misuse services, training and employment providers)
* Work collaboratively with partner organisations and professionals
* Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential records in line with organisational and safeguarding requirements
* Identify and respond appropriately to risk, including safeguarding concerns, following established procedures
* Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and team meetings

Supervision & Support

At Crystal Pathways, staff are supported to do challenging work well. You will receive:

* Regular supervision and case discussion
* Guidance and support when working with complex or high-risk situations
* Access to training and professional development opportunities
* A supportive, reflective team culture that values learning and wellbeing

Person SpecificationEssential Criteria

* Significant experience working directly with vulnerable individuals (essential)
* Experience supporting people with complex and multiple needs, including those with lived experience of offending
* Ability to build rapport and trust with individuals who may be disengaged or cautious of services
* Strong understanding of trauma-informed and person-centred approaches
* Confidence managing challenging conversations and situations
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Strong communication, organisational, and record-keeping skills
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice

Desirable Criteria

* Experience working in criminal justice, probation, housing, substance misuse, mental health, or community-based services
* Relevant qualifications in health, social care, wellbeing, or a related field
* Lived experience relevant to the role

Why Work at Crystal Pathways?

* Be part of a values-led organisation making meaningful, lasting impact
* Work holistically with people, not narrowly around one aspect of need
* Join a supportive team with strong supervision and clear boundaries
* Do purposeful work that genuinely improves lives
