Senior Youth Worker, YVAP
Lewisham Council is hiring a Senior Youth Voice Action Participation Worker (YVAP) to lead and expand Lewisham’s Youth Voice, Action and Participation programme.
What The Role Looks Like
* Lead the development and delivery of the YVAP programme, supporting youth to engage in civic duties, governance and social action.
* Manage and inspire a team of Youth Workers and volunteers in face‑to‑face delivery.
* Champion youth‑led initiatives including the Young Mayor and Young Advisors programmes.
Key Qualifications and Experience
* Level 3 qualification in youth work practice (or equivalent) and experience working with young people aged 8‑25 in informal settings.
* Experience developing youth‑led programmes such as the Young Mayor or Young Advisors.
* Strong safeguarding ethos, confident and inclusive communication skills and a creative, partnership‑working mindset.
* Relevant Youth and Community Work (JNC) qualification or equivalent; weekend working required; subject to an enhanced DBS check.
Location and Working Arrangements
The role is based in Laurence House, Lewisham but operates a hybrid approach where you will be required to work both in the office and from home on a regular basis.
