My client, a well-established, diverse Multidisciplinary Consultancy is searching for a Civil Engineer (Infrastructure and Drainage) to join their growing team of engineering and design experts, in the lively, diverse Capital City of Cardiff.
Essential Criteria:
1. A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
2. Demonstrable experience of working in a design-based role, in a consultancy setting, primarily across residential and commercial projects
3. Experience of producing flood risk and drainage strategies, including SuDS
4. Good working knowledge of highways and earthworks
5. Knowledge of SAB, highways, planning, and other consent processes
6. Excellent understanding of the relevant Section Agreements (namely S38, S278, S104, etc.), and their applications within the industry
7. Competent in the use of the relevant software packages (e.g., AutoCAD, InfoDrainage, etc.)
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Civil Engineer (Infrastructure and Drainage) to have the following:
8. Excellent numerical and literacy skills, especially when applied to report writing
As Civil Engineer (Infrastructure and Drainage), you will be joining a growing team of dedicated engineering specialists, working on a number of varied, high-profile projects across the region and further afield. As you progress through your career, you will take on a range of different responsibilities, including the following:
9. Contributing to projects that develop flood risk and drainage strategies, drainage design, SuDS, etc.
10. Working with the wider team to ensure project goals are delivered to the highest standard and within given timeframes
11. Undertaking the relevant technical analysis using software packages such as AutoCAD, etc.
12. Preparing and issuing accurate technical information regarding projects, including calculations, drawings, and models
13. Conducting earthworks volume assessments
14. Writing a range of technical reports for a variety of projects, and preparing technical submission packages
15. Controlling and managing documents, including project portals and data environments
16. Coordination with other design input and collaborative/shared models
17. Liaising with a range of clients and stakeholders, across the public and private sectors
18. Conduct site visits, meeting with a range of clients and representing the firm
