About the Role
The North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) is expanding its clinical workforce within Integrated Contact Centres (ICC). We are looking for Paramedics and Nurses to provide clinical leadership and supervision to our clinical delivery team to achieve excellent patient care. Recruitment sites are in Greater Manchester, Liverpool, Cumbria and Lancashire. The role offers flexible working patterns with travel to NWAS ICC sites as required.
Main Duties
The post holder will be an expert in remote and face‑to‑face patient consultation, responsible for providing professional guidance, clinical expertise, and supervision to clinicians within the ICC environment. The role ensures the consistent delivery of high‑quality, safe, and effective care through continuous support, service improvement and innovation. The post holder will play a key role in the clinical development of practitioners, ensuring alignment with the Trust's Urgent and Emergency Care Strategy and national priorities for Urgent Care and Safe Care Closer to Home.

Qualifications
* Expert knowledge of Pre‑Hospital and Urgent Care systems, acquired through substantive experience.
* Thorough knowledge of 111 and 999 primary and secondary triage processes within UK NHS ASTs.
* Experience in working collaboratively with Urgent Care colleagues across other NHS ASTs and other organisational bodies (e.g. AACE).
* Proven knowledge and experience relating to the operation of Primary & Urgent Care Services.
* Good understanding and application of qualitative & quantitative research methods in practice.
* Experience of system changes, including IM&T system development to support practice.
* Knowledge of macro and micro contextual drivers and developments, particularly "Taking Healthcare to the Patient" and Urgent Care Strategy drivers.
* Understanding of the commissioning process leading to service development within the NHS.
* Experience of working within an NHS Ambulance Emergency Operations Centre or Contact Centre environment.
* Evidence of leadership & mentoring skills.
* High‑quality patient assessment skills.
* Excellent written and analytical skills to provide reports to internal & external stakeholders.
* Ability to influence and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders (GPs, CCGs, Acute services) to develop multidisciplinary working.
* Developed research skills.
* Excellent IT literacy skills.
* Enthusiasm and drive to develop Urgent Care.
* Strong organisational and planning skills to manage a range of activities.
* Evidence of evidence‑based clinical practice development.
* Experience persuading Board, Executives and other Senior Managers of the merits of different options, innovation and opportunities with new practices.
* Ability to motivate, performance manage and develop teams and individuals.

* Line management responsibilities, degree‑level education in a relevant subject or equivalent experience.

* Nurse or Paramedic with current NMC or HCPC registration.
