SEMH Teaching Assistant – Alternative Provision Setting
We are currently recruiting for a passionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to work within a small specialist Alternative Provision setting supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
This is a highly rewarding role for someone who enjoys working closely with young people and thrives in both classroom-based and outdoor learning environments. The setting places a strong focus on relationship-building, engagement, and active learning, so we are looking for someone who is energetic, outgoing, and confident supporting outdoor activities.
The Role:
* Providing classroom support on a 1:1 and small group basis
* Supporting students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour
* Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement, and emotional wellbeing
* Assisting with outdoor education, practical activities, and enrichment sessions
* Building strong and trusting relationships with students
* Helping create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
The Ideal Candidate:
* Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
* Calm, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong behaviour management and communication skills
* Enjoys outdoor activities and active learning
* Positive, proactive, and adaptable attitude
* Passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential
