This role requires the postholder to be AMHP qualified Relief Hours contract About the role: The Senior Social Work Practitioner in the Emergency Duty Team provides statutory out-of-hours social work cover for both adults and children across Powys and must be AMHP qualified. The role involves assessing and responding to urgent safeguarding concerns, undertaking Mental Health Act assessments, and making complex decisions independently when daytime services are unavailable. Working on a rota basis, the postholder prioritises risk, coordinates emergency support such as placements or care packages, and provides advice to residents and partner agencies. As a senior practitioner, the role requires high-level professional judgement, quality assurance, and accurate recording on WCCIS, often without direct management support. The postholder also contributes to multi-agency working, supervision, training, and ongoing professional development to maintain Social Care Wales registration and AMHP warrant. This role requires the post holder to be AMHP qualified.
