About The Role

Are you a solution‑orientated leader ready to make a real impact in logistics?

We’re looking for an Assistant Shift Manager who can keep our operation running smoothly while driving efficiency, collaboration, and team development. In this role, you’ll work closely with key operational teams including Transport, Inventory, Returns and Outbases, while also building strong relationships with Commercial, Quality, People, and Health & Safety functions.

You’ll report directly to the Shift Manager, stepping in to support and lead the operation when needed, helping your team deliver consistent, high‑quality performance.

This role operates on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern, giving you a balanced rhythm that supports both work and life — perfect for leaders who want structure, stability, and time to recharge.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

Leadership and Support:

1. Report directly to the Shift Manager, providing vital support and stepping in when needed.
2. Lead and motivate teams across various departments to maintain efficiency and operational success.
3. Drive team development and foster a culture of collaboration and accountability

Operational excellence:

4. Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations across department like Transport, Inventory, Returns and Outbases.
5. Complete incident reporting to ensure accurate documentation of any operation issue or safety concerns
6. Report maintenance issues and liaise with relevant departments to inform or help resolve the issues efficiently.
7. Manage and escalate high-level tickets related to the operation, ensuring swift resolution.
8. Cover other operation management roles when required.

People Management & Development:

9. Conduct 1-1 and development chats to support employee growth and performance
10. Conducts welfare meetings to address employee concerns and wellbeing.
11. Conduct and manage formal PIP process to address performance issues and encourage improvement.
12. Issue recognition cards throughout the operation to recognise
13. Administer documented discussions to ensure clear communication and employee accountability.
14. Conduct disciplinary hearings to handle employee conduct issues in a fait and consistent manner.
15. Conduct grievance investigations to ensure issue are addressed and resolved fairly.
16. Approve Holidays, ensuring adequate coverage and staffing levels.

A Few Things About You

Warehouse Operations and Management:

17. Strong knowledge of inbound and outbound warehouse processes
18. Hands on experience in stock management, audits, and adapting to changing workloads.

Leadership & Team Development:

19. Proven ability to motivated and develop diverse team with fair, consistent leaderships
20. Calm and solution orientated under pressure, driving result and team success

Operational efficiency:

21. Skilled in supply chain processes and cross functional collaboration
22. Expertise in labour management, capacity planning, and dispatch to optimise efficiency

Technical and reporting skills:

23. Proficient in Warehouse Management systems (WMS) and Microsoft office.
24. Experience in generating management reports to track performance and drive improvements

Performance & metrics:

25. Strong understanding of key performance metrics, including damage rates and labour costs to improve operations.
