Our client, a multi-disciplinary consultancy based in Huddersfield, is actively recruiting for a Building Surveyor on a full-time, permanent basis. They provide Architectural, Project Management, Building Surveying, Engineering, and principal designer services, but are not limited to this. This consultancy delivers a variety of projects valued up to £30M, from small to large-scale refurbishments, retrofits, redesigns, and conversions within the residential/high-rise residential sector.
Building Surveyor Position Overview
1. Contract administration
2. Employers' agent work
3. Preparation of specifications and schedules of work
4. Site inspections
5. Quality management
6. Attending site meetings
7. Cost control
8. Design co-ordination
9. CDM Consultant/Principal Designer duties
10. Party Wall Act surveys and property surveys
11. Line management and mentoring responsibilities for a small team of 3 - 5 less experienced surveyors.
Building Surveyor Position Requirements
1. RICS or CIOB accredited construction degree
2. 3 years post-qualification experience, ideally in both new build & refurbishment projects
3. Proven site experience & providing similar services in your current role
4. Confident communicator & experienced in client-facing roles
5. Managing the client relationship and service delivery on a project-by-project basis.
6. Willingness to travel across the UK to meetings and sites
7. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
8. A 'self-starter' able to be trusted to work with a high degree of autonomy & self-motivation.
9. Full UK driving licence
Building Surveyor Position Remuneration
1. Salary: £30k - £35k (Guide Only - DOE)
