About the role
Balfour Beatty is currently seeking Assistant Engineering Managers to join their Power T&D team. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in project engineering/management or design engineering, with an understanding of electrical construction projects.

The primary responsibility is to assist the Engineering Manager and Delivery Teams in fulfilling all design and engineering needs for projects from start to finish. The role involves ensuring project scope clarity, meeting design requirements, and delivering solutions on time and within budget.

Responsibilities
1. Coordinate contract requirements with Project Managers, clients, suppliers, and departments upon contract award.
2. Meet with Design Delivery teams to identify project requirements, timelines, and costs.
3. Control, update, and report on workload progress, highlighting potential issues and solutions.
4. Report variations in the Contract Scope of Work and obtain necessary approvals.
5. Develop detailed design project plans and revise as needed.
6. Monitor project performance to ensure timely delivery.
7. Compile and submit project status reports to stakeholders.
8. Specify and quantify equipment/materials for optimal benefit.
9. Work effectively with stakeholders for project implementation.
10. Coordinate engineering activities to deliver projects for clients such as National Grid, SSE, Scottish Power, or DNO network.
Qualifications
* Degree or relevant experience in engineering.
* Experience in engineering design and project administration.
* Strong administration, project controls, and interpersonal skills.
* Good engineering and project management knowledge.
