Finance Assistant
Holywood (BT18)
Salary c.£12.00 – £13.00 P/H DOE
McKinty Associates are pleased to be working with a leading Charity who have a requirement for a Finance Assistant to join their existing team. The post holder will assist with the finance and administration operations of the Charity offering finance support to all staff and co-workers.
Main duties will include:
Purchase Ledger
1. Processing for all invoices received (receive, code and distribute for approval when received).
2. Reconcile supplier statements prior to payment.
3. Ensure that expenditure is coded accurately to allow for proper recording and reporting of expenditure.
4. Process bi-monthly payment runs.
5. Dealing with all queries via email, phone etc.
6. Process all cash requests.
7. Ensure accurate accounting records and systems are maintained.
8. Ensure that all expenditures are incurred in line with financial authorisation procedures and that all invoices are posted in a timely fashion to the creditors’ ledger.
9. Ensure all liabilities are settled within the appropriate timeframe.
10. Liaise with auditors when required.
Treasury Management
11. Process all payments.
12. Ensure that adequate financial records in relation to payments are maintained and reconciled on a regular basis.
13. Ensure that expenditure is coded accurately to allow for proper recording and reporting of expenditure for Standing Orders.
Other
14. Any other duties to aid the Management Accountant in their duties.
Essential eligibility criteria:
15. 5 GCSE including English and Maths (A-C Grades).
16. At least 6 months’ experience working in an administration office setting.
17. Previous experience in the use of a computerised accounting system (Desirable)
18. Computer literate – including strong Microsoft Excel & Word skills.
19. Good numeracy skills.
20. Ability to work on own initiative.
21. Ability to manage deadlines and workload.
22. Keen eye for detail.
