Milk Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Darlington to recruit a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher for a long-term temporary position. This is a full-time role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate who demonstrates strong teaching practice and a positive impact within the school.
You will be responsible for delivering engaging and high-quality Science lessons across Key Stages (KS3 and KS4, KS5 desirable), ensuring all students are supported and challenged to achieve their full potential. This is a full teaching role, including planning, marking, assessment, and participation in departmental and whole-school activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging Science lessons in line with the national curriculum
2. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress
3. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment
4. Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all learners
5. Contribute to the wider life of the school, including meetings and extracurricular activities
6. Uphold school policies and maintain high standards of behaviour
Requirements:
7. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
8. Experience teaching Science within a UK secondary school setting
9. Strong classroom management skills
10. A commitment to raising achievement and supporting student development
11. Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
