Technical Writer - Cloud Migration & Documentation
Our client is looking for a hands-on Technical Writer to play a key role in documenting a large-scale cloud transformation journey. You'll work alongside senior engineers and solutions architects to make complex systems clear, concise and accessible, helping thousands of developers navigate new ways of working in the cloud.
You'll combine strong writing skills with a technical mindset, shaping documentation that supports teams migrating from on-prem systems to AWS, as well as those developing new cloud-native services. This is a delivery-focused role where you'll be improving what exists, building new content and driving consistency in Confluence.
What You'll Do:
* Create, refine and maintain clear, accurate and user-friendly documentation in Confluence.
* Partner with engineering, architecture and product teams to capture knowledge and communicate it effectively.
* Support both migration and cloud-native projects, ensuring clarity and usability.
* Contribute to tactical documentation initiatives from a prioritised backlog.
* Manage work through Jira and collaborate across teams to deliver measurable impact.
What You'll Bring:
* Strong experience as a Technical Author / Technical Writer in large-scale environments.
* Proven ability to document cloud migration or cloud onboarding processes (AWS knowledge highly valued).
* Experience with Confluence, Jira, Git and ideally an interest in using AI tools to enhance content.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts for varied audiences.
* Confident engaging with senior engineering stakeholders and challenging for clarity where needed.
Desirable:
* AWS Cloud Practitioner certification or similar understanding of cloud fundamentals.
* Experience delivering documentation across enterprise-scale programmes.
* Knowledge of governance, compliance and onboarding processes.
