Kennedys is seeking an experienced Associate to join our defendant personal injury motor team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a high-quality caseload for a diverse range of clients.

The role sits within our volume team and will involve handling claims in the OIC, MOJ, small claims track, and fast track, depending on your experience. With the team's broad scope of instructions, there is ample opportunity for career progression, including exposure to complex claims and multi-track litigation. You will be encouraged to take ownership of your caseload, develop strong client relationships, and contribute to the continued success of the team.

Team

Kennedys' Motor Team operates across five of our offices, managing both pre- and post-litigation work. Our cases range from OIC claims to multi-track matters involving complex injuries, indemnity issues, and liability disputes arising from road traffic accidents.

The team is known for its collaborative approach, technical expertise, and ability to deliver pragmatic solutions to clients. You will work alongside experienced colleagues, gaining exposure to a wide variety of claims and benefiting from a supportive environment that values professional development. The team structure ensures that Associates have the opportunity to progress into more senior roles, with clear pathways for advancement.

Required experience

4. 3+ years of relevant experience in defendant personal injury or civil litigation.
5. Civil litigation expertise, ideally with a defendant focus, and a strong understanding of the litigation process from inception to resolution.
6. Knowledge of personal injury protocols and the Civil Procedure Rules, with the ability to apply them effectively in practice.
7. Proven ability in providing advice, drafting, negotiation, and managing your own caseload, including the confidence to make strategic decisions and progress matters efficiently.
8. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
9. Flexibility to adapt and handle a variety of cases as required by the team, including both straightforward claims and more complex matters.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
11. Commercial awareness, ensuring that advice is not only legally sound but also aligned with client objectives and business needs.
