Our Wealth and Personal Banking business supports millions of individuals, families, business owners, investors and entrepreneurs worldwide. We provide products and services that include current accounts, credit cards, personal loans and mortgages, as well as savings, investments, insurance and wealth management. We also have specialised relationship managers who support customers with bespoke requirements, including high net worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
The role of the Financial Education Officer is to work with schools, youth groups, colleges and universities to improve the financial capability of young people and vulnerable adults. Activities will range from developing and maintaining a portfolio of Smart Money school relationships through to delivering HSBC financial education lessons in primary and secondary schools. You will be responsible for helping to shape and pilot financial education content in schools and will act as a role model for the wider education network across the UK.
The Financial Education Officer role is based within the Customer, Propositions and Marketing team in WPB and are based across the UK, with frequent travel required, including quarterly team meetings at 1 Centenary Square Birmingham.

In this role you will:
* Manage a portfolio of schools, liaising with teaching staff to represent HSBC as an ambassador within the education community. Providing ongoing support to the school to ensure the continued interest and engagement with the Smart Money programme.
* Work with Ofsted teams during scheduled visits to help the school showcase the work that they do to support the financial capability of their pupils
* Communicate the value of the education framework for schools, including links to the Every Child Matters Ofsted requirement and support of the wider curriculum in order to agree and deliver a financial education programme for children aged 4-18 on a rolling annual basis.
* Deliver the education programme both in person in schools and via online channels to support remote learning
* Showcase the education strategy with colleagues and wider communities through activities such as Bring Your Child to Work events, Banking Futures and career fairs.
* Work with the colleague network to support volunteers in the delivery of the HSBC national education framework through transference of knowledge, training and skills
* Assist with community projects to support young people and vulnerable adults to build their financial capability
* Work with external partners such as #Merky and Young Money for the added benefit of partner schools and young people in the wider community
* Pilot new learning content in schools to help us to develop best in class lessons for young people across all ages 3-25yrs
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
* Experience working in a relevant market/context, i.e.understanding of education industry knowledge, the financial sector for young people, an awareness of the school’s system and curriculum requirements
* Excellent organisational skills and time management.
* Strong written and digital skills to support engagement of schools and online learning
* Strong experience working in relevant environment/s, with proven experience of presenting, training or working with young people
* Experience in understanding the needs of customer to successfully manage and grow school relationships
* Experience of working independently and taking responsibility for own development and daily planning / schedule
* Deomstrate adaptability to respond quickly to new challenges within the education sector, whilst identifying new opportunities
* Experience of adapting your communication and delivery style and approach to meet the requirements of an audience
* Passion for supporting young people and awareness of the positive impact that financial capability can have on people’s lives.
