Role Summary:

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join Nidec Drives as an experienced ESG Programme Manager to establish and manage an Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) compliance programme (‘ESG programme’) across our global matrix organisation.

In this role, you’ll be a trusted adviser to our Business, Legal, Compliance and Risk Management partners on applicable laws, regulations, standards and ESG best practices.

This role is key to work with internal stakeholders to develop ESG and regulatory compliance strategies, ensuring ESG compliance across a complex global regulatory environment.




Key Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of the ESG Programme Manager consist of but are not limited to:


* Establish and manage the organisation’s ESG programme across various departments, functional areas, and geographic locations.
* Audit existing ESG compliance practices and processes and perform a comprehensive gap analysis of current practices compared to regulatory requirements and ESG best practices across key jurisdictions (UK, EU, USA, Mexico, China, India).
* Develop a roadmap of activities to close gaps and ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Create or update existing ESG-related policies and procedures where necessary.
* Collaborate across departments, functional areas, and geographic locations to embed ESG compliance into every aspect of the organisation.
* Work with internal teams and external stakeholders in a matrix environment to address ESG compliance challenges, ensure alignment, and meet the organisation’s ESG commitments.
* Conduct regular audits of processes to ensure they meet applicable ESG regulatory requirements and standards.
* Work closely with Legal colleagues on routine and assigned matters to ensure compliance with internal policies, legal/regulatory requirements and to meet stakeholder expectations.
* Monitor global ESG and regulatory developments and proactively adjust the ESG programme to remain ahead of changes.
* Provide or coordinate ad hoc training to internal teams to ensure understanding of specific ESG and regulatory compliance matters and to support the culture of compliance in the organisation.
* Report regularly to senior management on ESG compliance status, risks, and improvement initiatives.



Travel Requirements:

Regional & International travel may be required.



Qualifications & Experience Requirements:


* Degree in Law, Compliance, Risk Management, Business, or a related field/qualification
* Legal, Compliance, ESG or Risk Management field experience, preferably with global exposure.
* Excellent knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards and proven legal research skills.
* Experience in developing and implementing ESG, compliance and/or risk management programmes.
* Strong understanding of compliance best practices and risk management frameworks, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential risks.
* Extensive experience conducting audits, gap analysis, and regulatory reporting to ensure compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills and proven ability to collaborate with senior management.
* Ability to manage stakeholders across departments, functional areas, and geographic locations to ensure alignment on ESG initiatives.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical, business-minded approach, with a capacity to take calculated risks when necessary.
* High degree of independence, strategic thinking, sound judgement, initiative, decisiveness and assertiveness.
* Strong leadership and organisational skills
* Willingness to travel for ESG programme oversight and collaborations.
