* Job Title: Instrument Technician

* Location: Immingham
* Duration: 6 months (may extend to long term)
* Start Date: ASAP
* Hours: 38 per week (regular, overtime available)
* Rate: £22.44 per hour + 80p per hour 2nd tier payment, OT1 £31.42 OT2 £40.39, paid tea breaks & radius allowance
* Lodging: Not payable for this position
Key Aims And Objectives
* Install new or upgraded instrumentation to existing or new control systems
* Test, inspect to ATEX requirements, commission and return/initiate service
Role Requirements
* Install new/upgraded instrumentation and associated impulse tubing
* Check equipment against data sheets pre‑install
* Perform instrument pre‑calibration checks
* Commission equipment/systems, loop checking, P2P, etc.
* Minimise downtime and help achieve production targets
* Prepare technical reports as required
* Fault find and rectify instrumentation systems
* Carry out isolation of instruments and control systems
* Inspect instrumentation equipment in hazardous areas
* Co‑ordinate and assist Electrical Dept as required
* Operate PtW as originator/receiver
Essential
* Qualifications & certification: N/SVQ Level 3 / 4, Apprenticeship / Modern Apprenticeship / College Qualification (HNC/HND/ONC) in Instrumentation
* CompEx 01 – 04
* CCNSG Safety Passport
Desirable
* TSBT01 & TSBT02
Ideally, Candidates Will Also Have The Following Experience
* Knowledge of hydrocarbon/industrial production systems and associated hazards
* Good understanding of process instrumentation
* Knowledge of process control systems
* Knowledge of fire and gas detection and ESD systems
* Clear understanding of cause‑and‑effect logic diagrams
* Familiar with the permit to work system and isolation procedures
