Prospero Teaching are seeking a compassionate and experienced SEN Tutor to support a delightful 12-year-old learner in Gosport. This young person has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Global Learning Delay, and is currently working on the Key Stage 1 curriculum for Maths and English. They are non-speaking and they communicate confidently using an iPad. They would love to work with a calm, positive Tutor, who shares their love of games. This opportunity is for 15 hours per week.
About the Learner:
Non-speaking, communicates confidently using an iPad

Enjoys colouring, bright colours, and games on their iPad
Sensitive to loud noises
Shy at first, but very friendly once comfortableAs a n SEN Tutor you will:
Deliver engaging Maths and English tuition tailored to KS1 level
Use creative and sensory-friendly methods to support learning
Collaborate with parents/carers and professionals involved in the learner's care
Create a safe, calm, and encouraging learning environmentAbout you:
Minimum 1 year of experience working in UK schools
Proven experience supporting learners with Special Educational Needs
Patience, creativity, and a nurturing approach
Ability to build trust and rapport with shy learners
Comfortable working in a home or community settingPosition - SEN Tutor

Hours - 15 hours per week- Monday to Friday- 3 hours per day- timings are flexible
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
Background in SEN education or therapeutic supportTo be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
Hold right to work in the UK
Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
Provide references upon request
Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
