WeAreWSP What you can expect to do here: Participate in the design of plans, preliminary estimations and details for Commercial and Tenant Fit-out projects (Commercial Office buildings, Warehouses, Retail Stores and more); Design of various building systems including but not limited to Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Hydronic Heating and Cooling Systems, Plumbing, Sanitary, Strom Water, Natural Gas Piping, Basic Conceptual Fire Protection and Sprinkler, and high-level Building Automation System (BAS); Preparing contract document and working with junior Engineers, designers and 3D modelers; Design, size and calculate the hydronic load for heating and cooling systems and piping, size sanitary and storm piping systems including pumps, natural gas load calculation and pipe layout design, fire protection and sprinkler system design, clean agent fire suppression system design; Review AutoCAD drawings, and provide clash detection for Revit 3D modeling; Perform individually or as a team member with under direct supervision of senior Engineers; Take ownership of small size projects as an aspiring project manager and Design Engineer throughout the project life cycle; What you'll bring to WSP: Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and registered P.Eng. with PEO; 6 to 10 years' of experience designing mechanical systems for transportation, commercial, healthcare and light industrial projects including but not limited to: Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Hydronic Heating and Cooling Systems, Plumbing, Sanitary, Strom Water, Natural Gas Piping, Basic Conceptual Fire Protection and Sprinkler, and high-level Building Automation System (BAS); Extensive understanding of building mechanical engineering requirement, knowledge of utility companies, authorities having jurisdiction, applicable codes and standards such as Ontario Building Code (OBC), CSA, ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, etc.; Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skill with team members and other disciplines. Detail oriented, enthusiastic, organized, hard worker, and team player; Thorough understanding of project management technical requirement to prepare schedules and resourcing; Expert in mechanical software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Carrier HAP, duct and pipe sizing, and equipment selection.
