Job Summary
We are looking for a General Practice Nurse to join our enthusiastic forward thinking team who is interested in developing a long term career in general practice within a busy Inner City Practice. You don't necessarily need previous experience in General Practice Nursing as full-training will be available for the right candidate. General Practice Nursing is a hugely rewarding area of nursing. You will help people to manage their own conditions, such as Asthma, Diabetes, or Cardiovascular Disease. You will help them to stay well and promote healthy lifestyles whilst also assessing, screening and treating people from small children to the elderly. The position is for a minimum of 25 hours per week, up to 37.5 hours per week as FTE, which is subject to change according to practice needs. We are seeking someone who is a team player, who has a flexible approach to work, who is keen to learn and who is willing to undergo the training.
Responsibilities
* Provide care for presenting patients from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care after training.
* Work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet patient needs and ensure compliance with practice policies and procedures.
* Assist the Registered Manager with duties related to CQC outcomes and maintain compliance.
* Undertake diagnostic, health screening and health promotion at consultation or opportunistically.
* Provide access to GPs as necessary and support clinical decision making within own scope of practice.
* Telephone triage, clinic and administrative nursing tasks within the GP Practice.

We have two GP Partners complemented by a Primary Care Practitioner, GP Trainees and a friendly reception team. We have access to a range of ARRS staff including a Care Coordinator, General Practice Assistant, First Contact Physiotherapist and Clinical Pharmacist. Patient list size is 9,500. System used: SystmOne. CQC rating: Good. Consistently high QOF achievers. We offer enrolment in the NHS pension scheme and annual leave starting at 5.6 weeks. Job Description / Key Responsibilities

Person Specification
* Essential: UK registered nurse with post-registration experience
* Nurse qualification; clinical experience in Hospitals and/or Primary Care
* Ability to maintain high standards of care and to work autonomously and collaboratively
* Effective organisational skills; ability to manage change and handle demanding situations
* Strong communication skills (verbal and written) at all levels
* IT systems skills; friendly, approachable, motivated, positive and committed
* Commitment to continuing education and professional development
* Maintain accurate records of consultations and treatments
* Flexibility to cover annual leave and sickness; knowledge of QoF and enhanced services is preferred but not essential
