Finatal is exclusively partnering with a high-growth, private equity-backed business in the energy sector to appoint an Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and evolving organisation, well-positioned for its next phase of value creation.
The business operates at scale with a turnover of approximately £100 million and is seeking an experienced interim finance leader to provide strategic direction, enhance financial performance, and support a potential exit event.
Key responsibilities include:
* Partnering with the CEO and PE investors to drive strategic and commercial decision-making.
* Leading the finance function and ensuring best-in-class financial controls, reporting, and forecasting.
* Supporting and influencing key value creation initiatives, including M&A and performance optimisation.
* Preparing the business for a successful exit, ensuring readiness across financial, operational, and commercial dimensions.
Requirements:
* Previous experience as CFO in a private equity-backed business at least twice before.
* Must have completed at least one full exit (trade sale, secondary buyout, or IPO).
* Strong understanding of the energy or infrastructure sectors preferred.
* Highly commercial and strategic, yet comfortable being hands-on in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at board and investor level.
