About the role
Our client is a long- stablished, well respected high street law firm based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The firm has built an excellent reputation for providing friendly, professional and efficient legal services to the local community. Due to continued growth in their Property department, they are now seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to support their busy residential conveyancing team.
The Role
As a Conveyancing Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting fee earners and ensuring that client transactions progress smoothly and efficiently. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a full range of residential conveyancing matters including sales, purchases, remortgages, and transfers of equity.
Key duties will include:
1. Assisting with opening new files, preparing client care documentation, and managing file administration.
2. Ordering searches, drafting contracts, and requesting redemption statements.
3. Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors.
4. Managing post-completion work such as Land Registry applications and SDLT submissions.
5. Keeping case management systems and client records up to date.
6. Providing excellent client service and supporting fee earners to meet deadlines and targets.

About You
The ideal candidate will:
7. Have at least 6–12 months’ experience in a conveyancing support or administrative role.
8. Possess a good understanding of the conveyancing process (sales/purchases/remortgages).
9. Have strong communication skills and a confident, professional telephone manner.
10. Be highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
11. Be IT literate and comfortable using case management systems and Microsoft Office.
12. Thrive in a team environment and enjoy building strong client relationships.
