Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner
Were seeking a qualified and accredited Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join our integrated primary care mental health team at HMP Millsike. As a PWP, you will deliver high-quality, low-intensity cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression, aligning with Step 2 IAPT guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct person-centred assessments, manage referrals, and support individuals in their self-management and recovery journeys.
* Deliver guided self-help in 1:1 and group settings, drawing from CBT principles.
* Collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams, attend meetings, and contribute to step-up and step-down arrangements.
* Ensure accurate data entry and maintain high standards in clinical record-keeping and confidentiality.
* Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, upholding Rethink Mental Illness values.

Team and Service Description
The role is part of an integrated primary care mental health service within HMP Millsike, in collaboration with TEWV and Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, delivering stepped care within the prison environment. The team works Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:00.
What I Do And Achieve
* Accept referrals via agreed service protocols and assess suitability for treatment, referring on as needed.
* Provide self-management and low-intensity CBT-based interventions, including Guided Self Help.
* Record outcomes and maintain confidential, accurate clinical data.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and maintain stepped care with appropriate escalation.
* Collaborate with other disciplines and maintain links with statutory and non-statutory agencies for continuing care on release from prison.
Essential Qualifications
* Completed the IAPT Low Intensity National Programme and hold a PWP accreditation (BPS or BABCP).
* Experience providing low-intensity, evidence-based interventions in a stepped-care environment.
* Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases.
Desirable
* Experience in a prison setting or with offender populations is beneficial, though not essential.
General Duties
* Work within Prison Service policies and procedures and contribute to risk management and public protection.
* Enhanced DBS disclosure and Home Office Prison Clearance required.
* Comply with Data Protection Act and information governance policies.
* Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and professional boundaries; engage in supervision and CPD.
* Maintain professional registration, keep up to date with health department guidelines.
* Follow charity policies and local operating procedures; participate in performance reviews and development plans.
* Attend clinical/managerial supervision regularly and respond to feedback to improve practice.
Compensation and Contract
* Band 5 — Salary £29,970 to £36,483 per year
