About the Role As Teacher of Religious Studies, you will teach across KS3–KS5, delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that develop strong subject knowledge, critical thinking and confident written argument. Your teaching will support pupils to: Build secure understanding of major religious, philosophical and ethical concepts through carefully sequenced learning Develop confident analytical and evaluative writing through modelling, structured practice and precise feedback Engage thoughtfully with religious belief, moral issues and philosophical questions through discussion and debate Use evidence, scholarship and key terminology accurately in both verbal and written responses Prepare effectively for GCSE and A-Level through deliberate practice, strong subject guidance and clear exam technique Pupils may study areas such as Christianity, Islam, ethics, philosophy of religion, religion and society, and wider moral and contemporary issues. Lessons are designed to promote reflection, respectful discussion and academic challenge while ensuring pupils develop the knowledge and writing skills needed for success in public examinations. There may also be opportunities to contribute to enrichment such as debate societies, philosophy clubs, lecture programmes, interfaith activities or wider humanities scholarship.
