Financial Reporting DP Accountant Location: Newforge Lane Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week Pay Rate: £24.59 per hour About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified DP Acountant to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play a key role in delivering high-quality financial management, reporting, and governance within a public sector environment. You will be responsible for ensuring robust financial control, supporting strategic decision-making, and maintaining compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards. Key Duties & Responsibilities The successful candidate will assist with: Preparation of Annual Reports and Accounts in line with HM Treasury and Department of Finance guidance, incorporating IFRS Liaising with internal and external auditors, including the Northern Ireland Audit Office Analysis and interpretation of financial data to support business decisions Production of monthly and/or quarterly management accounts Delivery of accurate, timely financial information and reports to senior stakeholders Oversight and management of financial processing functions Providing financial advice to ensure proper use and safeguarding of public funds Development and maintenance of internal control systems and governance frameworks Supporting the development and implementation of financial systems Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of public sector financial frameworks and controls Promoting high standards of accountability, integrity, and value for money Staff Management Responsibilities Lead, manage, and motivate staff to drive continuous improvement Manage staff performance and attendance effectively Foster a positive, high-performing team environment Essential Criteria Fully qualified accountant and current member of one of the following professional bodies: Chartered Accountants Ireland ICAS (Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland) ICAEW (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) CIPFA (Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy) CPA Ireland (Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland) Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience gained within the last 7 years in a finance-related role Additional Information This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-level financial decision-making while ensuring strong governance and accountability.
