The Role
3 days per week. Office Based. Permanent. Additional hours may be required periodically in order to hit financial deadlines.
Youll manage the companys financial administration, reporting to the Operations Manager and working alongside our external appointed accountant.
Opticaid UK is a long-established, family-run eyewear business based in Yeadon, Leeds. We supply quality reading glasses, sunglasses, and optical accessories across the UK and Europe. Were a small, supportive team that values initiative, collaboration, and reliability.
Key responsibilities:
Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, including reconciliations, credit control and some invoicing
Maintain accurate records in Sage 50
Process financial transactions for Amazon Seller, FAIRE and WooCommerce
Prepare the data for quarterly VAT returns, UK and bi-monthly Irish accounts
Support external accountants with quarterly and annual accounts
Calculate sales agent commissions and manage royalty statements
Assist with financial analysis and process improvements
About You
Essential:
Experience in a similar varied finance or bookkeeping role
Strong working knowledge of Sage 50, its various features and the MS Office Suite, MS Outlook
Competent in core accounting processes
Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to meet deadlines and work flexibly when needed. Additional hours may be required periodically, in order to meet financial deadlines.
Positive, proactive, problem-solving mindset
Desirable:
Experience with multi currency and multi company accounts
Familiarity with postponed accounting
Experience with Amazon Seller platforms / similar on line sales platforms
