Financial accountant – full time - 3 month temporary contract
We are looking for a Financial Accountant to help assist the Compliance Team in all matters of statutory reporting financial reporting, and financial controls including completion of the half year and full year statutory reporting for MSC UK entities.
You will be responsible for provide financial compliance, financial risk management and financial controls for multi entities across the following areas:
* Fixed and Leased assets
* Balance sheet reconciliations
* Cashflow forecasting
* Budgeting
* Finance processes and controls
Full compliance with IFRS/Tax/VAT guidance, along with group company policies and procedures for the above specified areas are the responsibility of the Financial Accountant. The Compliance accountant will provide support where required and provide guidance on new legislation and requirements when relevant.
Assess current policies and procedures in relation to all areas specified above providing proposed amendments to the Compliance accountant as necessary.
The post is responsible for one direct report and will review all of their work as relevant.
In partnership with the finance teams and business areas work to improve profitability and cash through the execution of effective financial control. Provide initiatives to maximise operational efficiencies and gain revenue growth.
How you will help us and what you can expect
* Assist in the production of statutory accounts in accordance with the relevant accounting principles and legislation
* Prepare the audit working papers for the year end including Group reporting
* Complete the month end reporting including the preparation of working papers for group reporting
* Review the monthly fixed and leased asset registers ensuring that all transactions adhere to current applicable IFRS standards ensuring completeness of records and that all monthly reporting is completed to month end deadlines
* Complete Office for National Statistics Surveys
* Review balance sheet control reconciliations on a monthly basis maintaining appropriate documentation to support audits and ensuring that outstanding items are cleared in a timely basis
* Assist in the preparation of weekly cashflow forecasting and final review
* Prepare long term forecasting
* Prepare annual budgets for all areas within the financial compliance team
* Undertake reviews of all processes and controls in place within the compliance team remit. Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and guidance is being adhered to
* Improve current process / procedures / controls as required to improve efficiencies and compliance with all relevant guidelines and legislation
* Work with the finance management team to Improve profitability and cash flow through the execution of effective financial control
* Work with the Compliance Accountant Manager to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial records
* Contribute to group-wide finance projects
* Review accounting papers on technical accounting issues, including industry specific themes, considering different options and approaches
* Other duties as required

Desirable skills:
* Knowledge and experience of SAP Financials
* Experience of a multi-entity organisation or large company
