Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice Field Engineer to join their team in Cambridge CB25. The Level 3 Network Cable Installer apprenticeship programme that we are offering, will allow you to kick-start your career in an industry that is constantly evolving, dynamic and transformational. Summary The Field Engineer is responsible for delivering all ongoing build requirements across the region, including fibre cable installation, testing, fault finding, and network patching. The role supports both Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) projects and infill workstreams, requiring a practical and technical understanding of fibre networks and associated infrastructure. The Position Job Title: Apprentice Field Engineer Apprenticeship Course: Level 3 Network Cable Installer Apprenticeship Duration: 12 months EPA Location: Cambridge CB25 Working Hours: Monday to Friday 9am - 6pm Salary: £18,000 – £22,000 Role and Responsibilities: Perform fibre cable blowing, splicing, and testing across MDU and infill workstreams Complete physical network builds in MDU environments Carry out patching at SN/ASN levels on the CityFibre (CF) network Conduct fault-finding activities across live fibre networks Interpret and work from civils diagrams and as-built documentation Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all work undertaken Maintain accurate records of completed tasks and network configurations Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge: · Full UK Driving License (E) Skills Blow, splice and testing experience (E) Ability to use IOLM, OTDR, and light meters (E) Able to read civils diagrams (E) Understanding of as-built documentation (E) Familiarity with Salesforce or similar systems (D) Eligibility Criteria Individuals must have a valid and eligible residency status to apply for this role.
