Permanent Technical Sales Consultant (Air Handling Systems) required for Moira. The organisation is known for delivering high levels of technical advice and product support to consultants, contractors, and clients throughout the lifecycle of projects. With over 30 years of trading experience, recent growth has been driven by increased demand for complex solutions including packaged air handling units and natural ventilation systems. To support ongoing growth, the company is seeking an enthusiastic and capable Technical Sales Consultant to join the existing sales and support team. Job Outline The roles primary objective is to drive continued growth in the specification and sales of air handling equipment. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will use their technical understanding to assist design professionals in selecting and configuring air handling systems and controls that meet project requirements. Key responsibilities include preparing quotations and conducting commercial negotiations during tender stages, supported by a combination of in-house and manufacturer training. While full product training will be provided, a foundational knowledge of HVAC and building services is highly desirable. The role is well-suited to someone with a background in construction or a relevant engineering or building services degree. The role includes a blend of office and field work, with travel primarily within Northern Ireland. Occasional travel to the Republic of Ireland, mainland UK, and supplier visits in mainland Europe may also be required. Identify and develop new sales channels Conduct visits to consultants, contractors, and clients to promote product awareness Deliver Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentations Conduct site and customer surveys System design and selection Prepare proposal documents, specifications, and quotations Nurture new leads and follow up on existing opportunities Negotiate and secure sales orders Liaise with the operations team to ensure smooth order fulfilment Provide internal and on-site technical support Liaise with suppliers/manufacturers on technical and commercial issues Assist with marketing initiatives (e.g. exhibitions, case studies, etc.) Essential Criteria Degree or equivalent qualification in a technical subject (relevant experience may also be considered) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office Ability to read architectural drawings and visualise in 3D Right to work in the UK Willingness to travel and stay away from home occasionally Full UK driving licence (max 3 penalty points) Desirable Criteria Degree in Building Services or Mechanical Engineering Understanding of HVAC systems and relevant building regulations Experience or qualifications in CAD systems (e.g. AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit) Familiarity with the construction industry tendering and procurement process Previous experience in a technical sales role Ideal Candidate Attributes Able to clearly communicate technical concepts Demonstrates understanding and application of engineering principles Attentive to client needs and requirements Effective team player with strong collaboration skills Capable of planning and prioritising workload Consistently produces high-quality work Strong attention to detail Motivated to achieve tangible results Conducts themselves with professionalism and integrity Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 + Bonus + Company Car + Private Medical For further information contact Tanya Lyttle at GenTech Recruitment on
