Overview
We are looking for a Support Volunteer to help our Docklands team based at West India Dock with administration, maintenance, inspections, boat movements, and bridge operations.
What We’re Looking For:
· Organised and reliable volunteers aged 18+, able to give at least one day every month (not on weekends)
· Flexible working indoors and outdoors, depending on organisational priorities
· Strong admin and communication skills
· Comfortable with basic computer tools (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
· Able to work both independently and as part of a team
· Interested in operating machinery, bridges, and locks
· Interested in heritage, waterways, or the environment
Whether you're looking to gain experience or give back to your local waterway, this role offers the best of both worlds – office-based and on the water.
Why we want you
Our Supporter volunteers ensure that the day to day nuts and bolts of the waterways happen be that monitoring activities on the towpath or that the running of teams and the necessary processes happen in the background. This can be anything from working with our Social Media Team to assisting with location and filming for productions. Our Supporting Volunteers also support our teams within our offices and even on the Towpath conducting audits.

* This role can potentially be done from home.
* When you register as a volunteer, we will ask you about any unspent convictions which you need to declare and risk assess these as needs be.
