Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role based in Blackburn for a Supervising Social Worker. As a Supervising Social Worker, you will oversee and support foster carers, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices. Daily responsibilities include conducting assessments, supervising placements, delivering training sessions, and maintaining detailed records. You will also provide emotional and professional guidance to foster families, facilitating the best outcomes for children in care while collaborating with external agencies.
Qualifications
* Expertise in Social Work principles, case management, and fostering practices
* Strong communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills
* Ability to conduct assessments, write reports, and maintain detailed documentation
* Familiarity with child welfare legislation, safeguarding, and best practices
* Proficiency in teamwork and independent decision-making
* Experience working with foster families or in a similar social work setting
* Hold a recognized social work qualification and be registered with the relevant governing body
* Commitment to child welfare and advocacy for families
* Willingness to travel locally as part of the role
