We are recruiting on behalf of Harrogate Neighbours Housing Association for an experienced and confident Care Manager to lead the care team at Heath Lodge in Boroughbridge.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is passionate about delivering high standards of person-centred care and building a positive, motivated team culture.
The Role
As Care Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operational management of care delivery within the home.
Key responsibilities include:
3. Leading, supervising and supporting senior carers, team leaders and care staff
4. Promoting a positive environment that upholds dignity, independence and choice
5. Ensuring care is delivered in line with individual needs and care plans
6. Acting as a visible, hands-on leader, stepping into care delivery where needed
7. Conducting team meetings, supervisions and appraisals
8. Monitoring performance and implementing support or improvement plans
9. Overseeing care documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
10. Supporting safe medication processes and staff competency
11. Assisting with rota planning to ensure fair and effective staffing coverage
12. Working collaboratively with catering, housekeeping and other departments
13. Managing concerns or complaints sensitively and professionally
14. Preparing reports for senior management
15. Participating in the on-call rota and supporting the team during emergencies
About You
We are looking for an experienced care professional who can combine operational oversight with strong people leadership.
Essential requirements:
16. Minimum of 5 years' experience within the care sector
17. At least 3 years' supervisory experience at Deputy Manager level
18. Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care
19. Strong leadership and mentoring capability
20. Excellent communication and organisational skills
21. A solid understanding of safeguarding, compliance and regulatory standards
22. A genuine commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
