Dunvegan is looking to recruit a Support Worker to join their team. This is a full time Days, 37 hours per week role. £12.60 per hour. Dunvegan is located in the town of Stenhousemuir, near Falkirk, in Scotland. It offers residential support for 33 people who have a learning disability, and is split across a main house and eight bungalows, which creates a small community feel. We want to help each person we care for to have a healthy, happy and independent life, within a safe and welcoming home. Our work is inspired and guided by the keys to life strategy that recognises that people with a learning disability have the same aspirations and expectations as everyone else and should be empowered to achieve these.
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.
Responsibilities
* Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care
* Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes
* Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals
* Assistance and support to attend medical appointments
* Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff
* Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams
* Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth

* A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
