A leading fashion sourcing company is seeking a talented Womenswear Tailoring and Outerwear Designer. The organization is committed to innovation, excellence, and the creation of design-led and sustainable fashion, delivering top-tier products to clients and customers across the UK and Europe. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fashion design, particularly in tailoring and outerwear. This role involves developing innovative designs that meet customer needs and align with the company’s high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop womenswear tailoring and outerwear collections from concept to completion.
2. Research and analyze fashion trends, market demands, and competitive products to create cutting-edge designs.
3. Create mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings to convey design ideas.
4. Select suitable fabrics, trims, and materials that meet design and quality standards.
5. Collaborate with in-country merchandising teams to ensure design integrity and feasibility.
6. Participate in design reviews, presentations, and meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
7. Stay updated on fabric developments, garment construction techniques, and industry innovations.
8. Ensure all designs align with customers’ aesthetics, quality standards, and sustainability goals.
You must have:
9. Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
10. Minimum of 3 years of experience in womenswear design, focusing on tailoring and outerwear.
11. Strong portfolio showcasing innovative designs and technical proficiency in womenswear tailoring and outerwear.
12. Excellent understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fitting.
13. Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
