We are seeking a compassionate and adaptable Nurturing Teacher to join our team in Newcastle. This full-time role is focused on supporting children and young people who require additional care, patience, and encouragement to re-engage with education. As a Nurturing Teacher, you will work with pupils in small groups and 1:1 settings, creating a safe, structured, and positive learning environment. Your role will be to build strong, trusting relationships while supporting academic progress, wellbeing, and personal development.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with SEN, SEMH, or additional needs.
* Provide a nurturing approach to behaviour management, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation strategies.
* Work closely with families, carers, and external agencies to support pupil progress.
* Track, assess, and report on student achievements.
* Promote resilience, confidence, and a love of learning.
Requirements
* QTS, PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring experience.
* Experience working with children and young people with SEN/SEMH is highly desirable.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt to individual learner needs.
* Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
